Senior HSE Manager

£70-80k depending on experience + company vehicle will be provided for work.

This role is office based (Essex) and site based

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior HSE & Compliance Manager to join one of the most innovative and fastest growing fire and electrical compliance companies in the South of England.

The company head office is in Chigwell, Essex. It is a leading, accredited service provider with 40 years’ experience of providing Electrical and Fire Compliance services to Housing Associations and Local Authorities across London and the South-East. The company’s growth has risen from c80 employees in 2021 to 300 + today. All tendering is done through public sector procurement routes.

The Role

RGE is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) Manager. This is a progressive and collaborative role suited to a highly organised and proactive individual, who will be expected to lead on all SHEQ matters for the business.

Joining our team, your primary role is to support and advise the Directors and Managers on all SHEQ matters to ensure the Company complies with its statutory obligations. Further, you will be expected to ensure the business maintains all the various accreditations it holds, which underpin the safe delivery of our services.

You will be based out of our Head Office in Chigwell, Essex, but will be required to travel to various operational sites throughout London and the Home Counties to meet SHEQ objectives (company vehicle available).

You must be:

  • Personable, responsible and experienced
  • Experience managing more junior team members
  • Coaching approach
  • NEBOSH National Diploma/NVQ 4 or minimum IOSH Managing Safely in Utility Industry 5 Day qualified TBC
  • Member of a relevant professional institution
  • Construction, FM Services, or Compliance (Electrical / Fire) industry experience essential
  • ISO Auditor for one or more of the following 9001/14001/45001
  • Conversant with CDM regulations and the Company’s associated responsibilities
  • Have demonstrable SHEQ experience
  • Hold a valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)
  • Ability to work at a tempo and be responsive
  • Diplomatic but confident enough to 'challenge’ where appropriate
  • Process driven for consistency of output but flexible enough to meet challenges which require lateral thinking
