About the school:

Welcome to our small, one-form entry primary school nestled in the heart of Barnet! We are proud to serve a wonderfully diverse and vibrant community that is truly celebrated and reflected throughout our engaging curriculum. The intimate size of our school fosters a warm, 'family feel' and a strong sense of community spirit where every child is valued and nurtured. Our extensive, beautiful grounds set us apart—we have a bog garden, a wild garden, bee hives, allotment space, a spacious playing field, and a large playground. These outdoor spaces allow us to take learning beyond the classroom, giving children hands-on opportunities to explore, learn, and grow.

In addition, we offer a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs, workshops, and school trips, ensuring that every child can discover and develop their unique talents while enjoying enriching experiences they might not ordinarily have.

About the role:

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team and support our students in boosting their learning and development. You will be working closely with the teaching staff to provide targeted interventions, primarily focusing on booster groups and special educational needs. Your role will involve supporting children who may need that extra bit of attention in key subjects, helping them reach their potential both academically and socially.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in small groups or on a one-to-one basis with students, helping to tailor learning experiences to their needs and ensuring they feel supported, valued, and confident. You'll play a pivotal part in helping these children thrive by nurturing their confidence, encouraging their creativity, and guiding them through their educational journey.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a school or with children (ideally within Key Stage 2).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for working with children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN).
• A proactive, patient, and positive attitude.
• The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support booster and intervention sessions for children in Key Stage 2, particularly those needing extra help in key subjects.
• Assist the class teacher in preparing resources and managing the classroom environment.
• Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, providing tailored support.
• Support children with SEN, helping them engage fully in their learning and classroom activities.
• Encourage and guide children to build their confidence, independence, and social skills.

Perks and Benefits:

We believe in creating a supportive and enriching environment for both our students and staff. As a member of our team, you'll enjoy being part of a warm, close-knit school community, working in beautiful school grounds that inspire outdoor learning. We offer ongoing professional development, including SEN training, to support your growth. Our school values work-life balance, with part-time hours and a leadership team that prioritizes staff wellbeing. You'll also have access to exciting school trips and activities, enriching both your experience and that of our students. If you're passionate about making a difference, we'd love to hear from you! Apply today and join a community dedicated to nurturing every child's potential.
