To undertake all statutory registration and discretionary duties ensuring that the Registration Acts, Regulations and legal obligations of a Registrar are applied in a fair and equitable manner including conducting marriage, civil partnership and citizenship ceremonies and registration of births, still births, deaths and marriages
Barnet Registration & Nationality Service is a fast-paced service, supporting people through key life events. We are responsible for the registration of all births, deaths and still-births in Barnet. We also offer a range of ceremonies such as marriages and civil partnerships and British citizenship ceremonies, from our home Hendon Town Hall.
The role of a Registration & Nationality Officer is to support the delivery of civil registration services in Barnet. It is a varied role that includes the registration of births, still-births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships as well as creating memorable ceremonies. We host ceremonies of marriages and civil partnerships at the historic Hendon Town Hall as well as at licenced venues across the borough. The role also includes welcoming new Barnet citizens at citizenship ceremonies as they complete their British naturalisation journey. When not interacting directly with customers, the role is involved in supporting the administration of meeting legal and statutory requirements as well as resolving customer queries.
