Simulation Specialist
Experience Level: 10-15 years

About the Role:

Our Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Simulation Specialist to join a Process Design Consultancy team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing, interpreting, and optimizing process simulations for large-scale continuous process plants, including petrochemical facilities, distillation systems, and compression processes. This is a key technical role requiring not only proficiency in simulation tools but also the expertise to translate simulation results into actionable insights and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Develop and execute steady-state and dynamic process simulations for large-scale continuous operations.

*

Analyze and interpret simulation results to identify process bottlenecks, optimization opportunities, and design improvements.

*

Provide technical recommendations based on simulation outputs to enhance plant efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

*

Work closely with process engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure simulation models align with real-world plant operations and objectives.

*

Utilize industry-leading simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PRO/II, gPROMS) to develop accurate and reliable process models.

*

Support front-end engineering design (FEED) studies, debottlenecking projects, and troubleshooting initiatives.

*

Validate simulation models against plant data, ensuring consistency and accuracy in predictions.

*

Mentor junior engineers in process simulation techniques and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

*

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.

*

Experience: 10-15 years of experience in process simulation, preferably within a consultancy or an engineering services environment.

*

Strong expertise in simulating petrochemical, distillation, and compression processes.

*

Hands-on experience with leading process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PRO/II, etc.).

*

Deep understanding of thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, separation technologies, and energy optimization.

*

Proven ability to interpret complex simulation results and translate them into practical engineering solutions.

*

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

*

Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and internal teams.

Preferred Skills:

*

Experience with dynamic simulation and operator training simulators (OTS).

*

Familiarity with process control strategies and their integration into simulation models.

*

Exposure to digital twin technology and advanced data analytics in process optimization.

*

Experience in regulatory compliance and safety studies using simulation tools.

Why Join?

*

Work on cutting-edge projects with leading industrial clients.

*

Opportunity to lead and influence key process design decisions.
