Highway Engineer
 
Are you an Engineer with a passion for sustainable growth, infrastructure, and highway improvements? I am recruiting for a Highway Engineer to join clients Transport Strategy Team.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
As an Engineer, you will:
·Support Technical Approvals: Work within a team responsible for technical approvals and supervision, ensuring quality and compliance of highway improvements.
·Facilitate Highway Agreements: Assist in the completion of legal agreements under the Highways Act (Section 38 and 278) to ensure newly developed roads are eligible for adoption, reducing future maintenance risks.
·Collaborate with Colleagues: Partner with the Supervision and Planning Teams to streamline transport policy and project delivery from consultations to completion.
·Negotiate with Developers: Work with developers to agree on technical specifications for roads, junctions, footpaths, cycleways, and drainage systems.
·Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation, health and safety protocols, and technical standards, ensuring the team applies best practices.
 
Specialist Knowledge:
·Experience in transport engineering and familiarity with Section 38 and 278 agreements.
·Basic understanding of transport policy, legislation, and technical frameworks.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software as an asset.
