As a Catering Manager at OCS, you will oversee all catering services for our clients within the Public Sector FM market. Your day-to-day tasks will include managing catering operations, recruiting and training staff, and ensuring everyone follows Health & Safety and food hygiene standards. You will keep records up to date, handle disciplinary issues fairly, and make sure all legal requirements are met. The role also involves cost control and problem-solving, requiring you to prioritize and manage your workload effectively. Working Pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. (40 hours per week)
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Day to day craft responsibilities for all catering services.
- To recruit, train, continually develop and motivate staff in such areas as Health & Safety, dangerous equipment, basic food hygiene and any other areas which may be necessary.
- Maintain all records in line with legislation and company policy.
- Deal with disciplinary and grievance issues consistently, fairly and in line with company policy.
- Ensure compliance at all times, with legal requirements such as Health & Safety at Work, display of all necessary notices, accident reporting and first aid.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Must have Right to Work in the UK
- An enhanced DBS will be completed for the successful candidate.
- Firm grasp of cost control
- An analytical approach to problem solving and decision making
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload in a front line, sometimes a reactive environment
