Underwriting Analyst - Modelling, analysis, underwritingLondon (Hybrid)I am working with a market leading Reinsurance firm as they look to find an individual to join their Analysis team. This role will involve analysing and interpreting data and working hand in hand with Underwriters to ensure the maximum value is attained. This role has the rare opportunity to join a market leader while having massive growth and progression opportunities. You will take an active role in driving forwards and building out the specialty market, and will initially start working with the aviation and satellite reinsurance line of business, playing an integral part in Underwriting processes. You will be proposing recommendation of assumed risks, systems and model development and analysis for resourcing of new product development.Responsibilities:* You will do hands on work with risk modelling and technical analysis to propose recommendations and support for the underwriters on assumed risks (Primary and facultative reinsurance; catastrophe excess of loss and propositional business; assume and cede retro; capital market transactions)* Support the development and use of internal and 3rd party catastrophe models* Support enhancements and development of internal risk and underwriting systems (exposure management, underwriting and portfolio management; reporting tools)* Ad hoc projects on model research, benchmarking studies and portfolio analysis* Deal-level reporting enhancements and capability developmentSkills & experience:* University degree * Experience at a Re-insurer / Reinsurance Broker* Strong poblem solving skills * Advanced understanding of Excel and SQL a bonus* Ability to communicate and collaborate across levels* Drawn to working in a fast-paced underwriting environmentIf you feel your skills and experience match, please send an up to date CV.
