ERS are currently seeking a Maths Teacher for pupil referall unit (PRU) provision setting in Redbridge, for a immediate start. The school looking to take a teacher on through an initial long term, temporary period, with a view to subsequently offering a permanent contract to the right candidate.

The school require a Maths Teacher who is QTS qualified to teach Maths across Key Stage 3 and 4, and the ideal candidate will have experience teaching pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties in an alternative provision or PRU setting.

This Maths Teacher role will involve teaching Maths up to GCSE, GCSE Foundation Level and also Functional Skills level, and class sizes will be up to around 8 pupils, with several support staff in each classroom too.

The successful candidate will demonstrate resilience, patience and an ability to strike up rapport and develop relationships with SEMH pupils. Pupils arrive at the school having struggled to access learning in their previous school/s, and clear routines and therapies are implemented in school to help engage students.

Due to the nature of the setting and attainment and attendance level of pupils, in comparison to a mainstream teaching role there will be a relatively lower level of planning and assessment/ marking.

To be successful in this Maths Teacher role, you will need to:

* Hold QTS status or an equivalent teaching qualification.

* Have knowledge and understanding of working with SEN and challenging behaviour.
