Senior Digital Hardware Design Engineer - Cutting-Edge Digital Systems

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Digital Hardware Design Engineer with a leading technology company based in Torquay, Devon. This is a fantastic chance to be involved in the design and development of next-generation high-speed digital systems and communication transceivers, impacting industries such as telecommunications, aerospace, and industrial instrumentation.

In this role, the Senior Digital Hardware Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance digital circuits, focusing on advanced signal integrity, power distribution, and FPGA integration. You will work closely with cross-functional teams on PCB design, signal simulation, and hardware prototyping to ensure the successful development of cutting-edge systems.

The position offers an opportunity to work on challenging and high-profile projects, from concept through to production. 

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop high-speed digital circuits, ensuring optimal signal integrity and performance.
Lead the PCB design and layout process, optimizing power distribution and meeting high-speed design requirements.
Contribute to FPGA design and verification using VHDL/Verilog, working closely with software and hardware teams to meet project specifications.
Conduct simulations and validation of designs to ensure their reliability in real-world applications.
Support the full product lifecycle, from prototyping and design to integration and production.Experience and Background:

Strong background in high-speed digital circuit design, including signal integrity, power management, and PCB layout.
Proficiency in FPGA design and verification using VHDL/Verilog.
Experience with design tools such as Cadence Allegro or Mentor Graphics.
Familiarity with high-speed communication protocols such as DDR, PCIe, or SERDES.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment
