About the role: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to join our team on a full-time basis starting November 2024. This position is a new addition to our team, reflecting our continued commitment to providing exceptional support for students with special educational needs. In this role, you will work closely with students across Key Stages 1 and 2, supporting their educational journey and ensuring they have the tools and encouragement they need to succeed. The class sizes are small to ensure tailored support for each student.
Application Requirements:
• Qualifications or experience:
Relevant experience and/or qualifications in special educational needs, with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder.• Skills:
Strong understanding of ASD and effective strategies for supporting students with autism. Experience in providing personalized learning support and implementing intervention strategies.• Knowledge: Familiarity with current SEN practices and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and parents.• Personal Attributes: Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with ASD, adapting learning activities to meet their needs.• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and work closely with the SENCO to track progress and adjust strategies as required.• Support students during classroom activities and help them engage with the curriculum.• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting students' social and emotional development.• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to support.
