Are you a driven, experienced income specialist looking for your next challenge? Do you have a passion for providing exceptional rent collection and arrears recovery services, while ensuring that clients receive the support they need? This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and empathetic professional to join a leading Housing Association and make a real difference in the community.

As an Income Officer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a top-tier rent collection and arrears recovery service. Your expertise will be key in reducing arrears and maximising income, whilst ensuring a fair and responsive approach. You will manage a diverse caseload, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and act as the primary point of contact for Local Authorities. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in income management, ideally within a housing association or local authority setting. This is a 3 month contract with the possibility of extension and offers a highly attractive hybrid working pattern,

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the rent collection and arrears recovery process, ensuring the delivery of an exceptional service.
  • Prepare and present cases in court with accuracy, confidence, and professionalism to secure timely outcomes.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring fair, responsive, and timely decisions for tenants and clients.
  • Provide a supportive rent account service, offering advice and support to tenants in need.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including acting as the main point of contact for Local Authorities.
  • Use your proactive approach to identify and implement strategies that will reduce arrears and maximise income across the organisation.

About You:

  • Extensive experience in income management and arrears recovery, ideally within a housing association or local authority.
  • Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and deliver excellent outcomes for clients.
  • A strong, empathetic communicator, able to handle sensitive conversations with professionalism.
  • Proactive, versatile, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident in preparing and presenting cases in court and liaising with external stakeholders.
