Are you passionate about safety and efficiency? Our public sector client are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our team in Leicestershire, playing a pivotal role in the delivery and collection of temporary traffic management signage. As part of a team that supports a wide range of highway maintenance activities, you will help ensure the safe, effective, and smooth running of public roads.

Location - Croft, Leicestershire

Pay Rate - £14.14ph

Role Overview:
As a Traffic Management Operative, you'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and removal of traffic management signs in line with industry standards. Your role is vital in supporting highway maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and contributing to the overall safety of road users.

Key Responsibilities:
• Install and remove traffic management signs as per the requirements of each project.
• Assist with scheduling resources to ensure efficient distribution and collection of signage.
• Interpret traffic management plans and drawings to ensure accurate sign placement.
• Carry out routine vehicle and equipment checks to ensure all are in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with the Sign Shop and Traffic Management Technicians, offering support in the workshop and during peak or emergency periods.
• Participate in a standby rota to provide out-of-hours emergency cover when needed.
• Lead and support other operatives, ensuring strict adherence to Health and Safety guidelines and fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Coordinate the delivery, collection, and storage of signs to minimize disruption and improve operational efficiency.
• Implement temporary traffic management systems in line with Chapter 8 and the Code of Practice for Safety at Streetworks.
• Maintain comprehensive training records to ensure compliance with industry legislation.

Skills & Qualifications:
• Previous experience in traffic management or a related field is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret traffic management plans and drawings.
• Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations, COSHH, and Driver's Hours Regulations.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor less experienced operatives.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
• 12A, 12B, or 12C Traffic Management qualifications are required.
