Omega are working with a well-established manufacturer who are looking for a seasoned Principal Hardware Engineer. This role involves managing the company's hardware product portfolio, supporting both customers and internal teams, and staying at the forefront of industry advancements.

The ideal Principal Hardware Engineer will have expertise in hardware and will possess exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities - Principal Hardware Engineer

Comprehensive understanding of the hardware and related software products we offer and become the go-to expert.
Demonstrate product features and benefits to clients, partners, and internal teams to drive adoption and satisfaction.
Conduct hands-on testing of CCTV, 4G Routers, and VMS software products to identify and troubleshoot faults.
Identify market trends and new technologies/products. Recommend new products for our offerings or propose better alternatives to existing ones.
Make sure the products we integrate are compliant with the industry regulations like UKCA, E-Mark etc.
Support the new AI development projects on hardware front through knowledge of edge computing hardware like NVDIA Jetson etc.
Manage helpdesk tickets from initiation to resolution, ensuring effective solutions through collaboration with various departments.
Provide technical support via phone and email, assisting with fault diagnosis and general technical queries.
Travel occasionally to customer site to understand requirements to resolve complex technical issues.
Develop and deliver technical training programs for engineers and customers.
Offer technical onboarding and guidance to customers, ensuring they are well-prepared to utilize our products.
Evaluate, create, and update Field Service guides to enhance first-time fix rates and improve engineer knowledge.

Qualifications & Requirements - Principal Hardware Engineer

Passion and expertise in a hardware role, preferably in the electronics or tech industry. Experience with CCTV or networking is a plus but not essential.
Strong ability to engage in technical conversations, challenging and questioning effectively to achieve the best outcomes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new software packages.
Ability to work independently and manage one's workload effectively.
A degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Proven track record in a similar role.
