Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: Telford

Department: Reliability

Hours: 37 hours per week - 3 shifts

The shift pattern is as follows:

1. Double Days (rotating)

2. Monday - Thursday 06:00 - 14:00/14:00 - 22:00

3. Friday - 06:00 - 11:00/11:00 - 16:00

Night Shift

1. Monday - Thursday - 22:00 - 06:00

2. Friday - 16:00 - 21:00

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Reporting daily to the Engineering Supervisor, the Technician's main purpose will be to maintain continuous running on all production plant to obtain maximum production efficiency, reduced downtime, improve costs, quality and safety. You will be responsible for reactive, predictive and planned maintenance to a range of plant, in addition you may be required to undertake buildings or facilities maintenance as necessary.

KEY TASKS - Roles and Responsibilities

* Providing breakdown cover, both mechanical and electrical

* PLC problem diagnosis and resolution

* Pneumatics & Hydraulics problem diagnosis and resolution

* Responsible for optimising and sustaining process performance

* Identifying and leading improvements

* Training down of 1st line autonomous maintenance

* Maintaining adequate records of all breakdown and planned work

* Use root cause analysis methodology to improve plant

* Work with engineers and carry out project work

* Ensure full compliance with EN, ISO and Health and safety standards

* Any other reasonable duties as requested by the maintenance supervisor

* Participate in LEAN manufacturing function within Department/Plant

* Any other duties as reasonably requested by the employer

QUALIFICATIONS

* Electrically qualified with a sound mechanical understanding, manual dexterity (legitimate business requirement), computer literate, ability to think conceptually and to solve problems.

Essential

* Must have City & Guilds or higher in electrical engineering.

* Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematic diagrams.

* Experience of Automated equipment in a continuous process environment.

* Good communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.

* Computer literate in Microsoft applications.

* Desire to be part of a winning production team.

* The ability to work shifts is essential.

* Knowledge of Mitsubishi PLC's & Medoc

* Apprentice trained with experience within an industrial environment
