We have an AMAZING opportunity for a qualified children's residential support worker to step up into a Trainee Deputy Manager role in a MODERN semi-independent residential home in Taunton. You'll be supporting young adults 16+ with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.
As a Trainee Deputy Manager, you'll be based within the head office to support the Outreach and Supported Living Manager in the provision of a stable, structured, and therapeutic environment for our Supported Living service. You will work closely with the Outreach and Supported Living Director, Team Manager and Supported Living/ Outreach Support Workers to ensure that they work closely with the children and young people accessing the service, who they support, ensuring all team members are nurturing, listening, and encouraging.
**Due to the nature of the job we will only accept candidates who hold a Full UK Driving Licence**

- Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 DOE (+ on call rota allowance)

The role:
- To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
- To support the manager and team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams, and budgets and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meets expected care standards.
- To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
- To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
- Ensuring the safety of the young people and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
- Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
- Organise and participate in activities and holidays, ensuring risk assessments have been followed.
The successful candidate:
- Experience as of being a Children's Support Worker or senior post holder seeking career advancement within a similar social care setting or with Young People ESSENTIAL
- Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare or equivalent ESSENTIAL
- Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence ESSENTIAL
- Children Homes Regulations and Safeguarding Knowledge ESSENTIAL
