Senior Estimator/Design Technician
Kettering
Hours - Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs pw
Salary - circa £30k

Our Kettering based client is recruiting a Senior Design Technician/Senior Estimator on a permanent basis to create and complete large Multi Utility quotes in a timely manner based on a weekly priority list making sure to adhere to company processes, procedures and standards to ensure that the Developers' requirements and timescales are achieved.

Main duties/responsibilities

Responding to email queries and problems applicable to own competency level and escalating where necessary to relevant departmental manager.
Liaising with colleagues internally and external companies in a professional manner.
Reviewing asset plans of existing utilities and developers technical drawings.
Reviewing Electricity Point of connection plans and offer letters.
Reviewing Water terms and plans.
Completing Water, Gas and Electricity network studies by using Windebut & Gas Works.
Producing Multi Utility cost models and proposal letters in a timely manner.
Taking ownership of large/multi phase development.
Reviewing and producing re-quotes and variations according to Developer requests.
Providing regular updates to the Tendering Manager and Business Development Managers to meet a weekly priority list.
Reviewing and checking colleagues work.
Working closley with Business Development managers and attend client meetings.
Undertake the electronic filing regularly to ensure all correspondence is available and can be easily found.Person Specification

Knowledge requirements:

Previous estimating experience - be able to estimate on your own and train others.
Understanding of Microsoft office packages including Word and Excel.
Knowledge of AutoCAD would be required.Skills and abilities:

Able to work as a team but also able to work off of your own initiative.

Good communicator and Listener.
Able to solve problems.Experience:

Previous experience in an estimating role would be required.
Experience using AutoCAD would be required at a basic level.
