We're looking for a Strategic Buyer / Procurement Specialist to join our leading client based near Redditch where you'll play a key role in driving cost savings, enhancing supplier performance, and ensuring supply chain resilience.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background working within a strategic purchasing function within an engineering based environment with a strong good working knowledge of SAP.

This role will be based in Redditch but will require some travel to meet with Suppliers therefore a willingness to travel as needed is a must.

🔍 What You'll Be Doing

As a Procurement Specialist, you'll:

* Lead and coordinate strategic cost reduction initiatives

* Negotiate with suppliers to deliver Price Purchase Variance (PPV) and Net Working Capital (NWC) improvements

* Collaborate with operations to mitigate supply chain risks

* Improve supplier performance across quality, delivery, and cost

* Analyse procurement data to uncover improvement opportunities

* Support inventory management to meet company targets

🎯 What We're Looking For

* Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment is essential

* Experience with OEM or in the automotive industry is a plus

* Degree-level qualification or equivalent preferred

* CIPS or equivalent supply chain certification preferred

* A valid UK driving licence

* Strong understanding of manufacturing, quality control, and planning

* Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (ideally SAP) and Excel for data analysis

* Able to read engineering drawings and understand technical specifications

* A confident communicator and skilled negotiator

* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure

* Organised, proactive, and capable of juggling multiple priorities

* Team player with a customer-first mindset and a drive for continuous improvement

✈️ Work & Travel

* Site-based role in Redditch

* Occasional overseas travel - less than 25%
