The Company currently operates globally with 24 sites in the UK with further growth anticipated.

Main Responsibilities
This individual needs to be highly self-motivated and be able to self-manage the expectations of this key role.

This role will be responsible for undertaking fabrication and welding work according to customer orders on a container in our busy shipping container workshop / depot and self-store sites and to assist the team repair and refurbish containers.

There is also the possibility at times, to go to other sites around the UK to assist in duties and to attend customer sites.

This role will also carry out general maintenance needed on the containers within the depot. Welding will need to be carried out as and when required to ensure that the container is fit for purpose.

NOTE - SAFETY FIRST at all times - you must never put yourself and / or any other individual in any danger by undertaking tasks that you have not been trained on or in / not competent on or in.

Specific Duties
Designing, cutting, welding and shaping metal parts and structures using various techniques and tools.
Selecting appropriate materials and equipment for each project.
Performing basic repairs and maintenance on welding and fabrication equipment.
Fabricate customer orders from containers, from offices to the potential of multi-storey warehouses. Creating and maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring that risk assessments are carried out as part of any work that is undertaken.
Adhering to safety protocols and practices at all times.

Requirements for the role
Welding and Fabrication Qualification.
Competent in brazing refrigeration pipework
Knowledge of different welding and fabrication techniques, equipment and materials.
Ability to use fabrication equipment and tools, such as bending, forming, cutting, grinding, polishing, etc.
Good problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills with the ability to build relationships with your team colleagues and other members of staff including external parties.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
An excellent approach to H&S requirements.
Flexible to work outside normal business hours at times and carry out overtime if required.
Adaptable to change and able to work under pressure, if needed.
Good attention to detail.
Counterbalance Licence.
Container Handler Licence - preferable but not essential as training will be given.
Full driving licence.

What's on offer?

Workplace: Bristol Depot plus travelling to other Self Store / Depots to assist as and when necessary. Along with the ability to attend customer sites to assist with fitting out stores as and when necessary.

Travel activity: Travel within the UK to support other workplaces.

Start date: ASAP

Salary: £28,000.00 - dependent on experience - negotiable for the right person.

Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus paid annually - currently in March.

Holidays: 25 days per annum plus bank holidays

Life Assurance: Day 1 benefit.

Health Insurance: After 3 months and on the next entry point of either April or October.

Salary Date: On or before 25th of each month.

Company Equipment: All PPE and tools needed as necessary.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week 8am - 5pm plus overtime as and when necessary to fulfil the role, paid at time and a half after 40 hours have been worked.
