Indirect Tax Assistant Manager10+ Partner Firm, Birmingham OfficeUp to £50,000!!!

A business that was founded on the belief that, when it comes to tax, there is a better way. Whether your business is growing, you are preparing for a transaction, or you need advisors to take care of your personal affairs, they are there, on your team, with expert service! A great opportunity for a newly qualified Senior seeking a step up or an Assistant Manager seeking a new challenge.

The Role:

After the continued growth of my client's Indirect Tax service line, I am looking for an additional Senior Associate or Assistant Manager to join either the Birmingham or Manchester office. The VAT team draws on a mix of experience and specialism, so they try not to be too prescriptive about what a candidate's background must be.

The role will sit within the Indirect Tax team, led by Associate Partner. The team's work spans a broad range of projects including corporate restructurings and reorganisations, M&A tax structuring and due diligence exercises. It is also responsible for transactional advisory work in the real estate, consumer business and charity sectors.

Essential background and experience includes:

  • Minimum of two years experience (Senior Associate) or three years (Assistant Manager) in an indirect tax role either in practice, industry, or a mix of both.
  • Ability to demonstrate technical competence in preparing and delivering VAT advisory and compliance assignments
  • Strong project management skills
  • Interest in development of junior staff members including new graduates
  • CTA and/or ACA qualified (preferred but not essential)

They will consider ambitious Associates and Senior Associates looking to take the next steps in their careers.

These roles are preferably full-time, but we will consider part-time/flexible working arrangements.

Only those applicants who have a legal right to work in the UK and have an appropriate amount of practical and relevant UK tax experience, as outlined above, will be considered for these roles.

Salary and Benefits:

  • They regularly benchmark their salaries against the 'Big Four' to ensure that they are competitive and attract the brightest minds in tax.
  • You can join the All-Employee Share Reward Scheme which entitles every employee to a share of the firms' profits above a fixed threshold, plus a generous benefits package.
  • They champion a productive and flexible work environment, where you will be surrounded by high-quality work and people with strengths in the depth of experience across all areas of tax.
