Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Lead to oversee all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) aspects of a £400M data centre construction project in Newport. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with UK health and safety regulations, implementing best practices, and fostering a strong safety culture across the project.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement project-specific health and safety policies and procedures.

* Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with CDM regulations.

* Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions for site personnel.

* Monitor and enforce health and safety standards across all contractors and subcontractors.

* Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, ensuring proper reporting and corrective actions.

* Work closely with project managers, site teams, and external regulatory bodies to maintain a safe working environment.

* Ensure fire safety, emergency preparedness, and environmental compliance are in place throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

* NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety

* Proven experience in a Health & Safety leadership role on major construction projects

* Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations, ISO 45001, and HSE best practices

* Experience in data centres, critical infrastructure, or high-tech construction is preferred

* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
