Role: Head of Geography

GSL Education is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified and experienced Head of Geography for a client school based in Sutton, to start on September. The role will require leading the geography department and overseeing the direction of the subject across all key stages.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the geography department, including curriculum design and implementation, monitoring progress and attainment, and providing support and guidance to colleagues
Develop and implement effective assessment and tracking systems to monitor and improve student progress
Ensure high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages, including the use of innovative teaching methods and technology
Work collaboratively with other subject leaders to develop cross-curricular projects and initiatives
Promote and support the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, and contribute to the wider life of the school community
Requirements for the role:

Qualified teacher status (QTS) with experience teaching Geography
Proven track record of delivering results and improving outcomes for students
Passionate about the subject and committed to inspiring the next generation of Geographers
Ability to lead and manage a department to maintain high standards of teaching and learning
Must hold a current Enhanced Child Only DBS registered with the update service or be prepared to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
