Salary: £40,000 - £60,000
Key Responsibilities
* Electrical Design & Implementation: Develop and implement electrical designs for data centre infrastructure, including power distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and cooling systems.
* System Analysis & Optimization: Evaluate the performance of existing electrical systems and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, capacity, and reliability.
* Compliance & Standards: Ensure all electrical systems comply with relevant safety and operational standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE), as well as client requirements.
* Project Management: Oversee electrical installations and upgrades, manage timelines, and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Emergency Support: Respond to electrical issues and perform troubleshooting to minimize downtime in data centre operations.
* Maintenance & Testing: Develop preventative maintenance schedules and carry out regular testing to ensure system integrity and reliability.
* Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive records of electrical systems, including wiring schematics, load calculations, and maintenance logs.
Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Experience: 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on data centres or other mission-critical facilities.
* Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of power distribution, electrical safety standards, UPS systems, and backup generators. Proficiency in CAD and electrical design software is a plus.
* Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; relevant industry certifications (e.g., BICSI, Uptime Institute) are advantageous.
* Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and document technical information.
* Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues under pressure and in high-stakes environments
