What You'll be doing:

The role of the Building Co-ordinator will be to support the safety, security and facilities of the Portsmouth Naval Base Headquarters building, in addition to providing support to Building Custodians in a small number of other occupied buildings on site and providing administrative support to the wider business.

The Building Co-ordinator will be responsible for providing competent support, coordination and administration, enabling building occupants to work safely and efficiently. The role does not involve the direct supervision of any employees, so a pro-active and independent working nature is welcome to successfully achieve positive outcomes and ensure the coordination of health and safety measures within associated buildings.

You'll Have:

You'll be an experienced administrator / office management professional with ability to use your experience to ensure effective management of building stakeholders' and their issues. The role requires an understanding of building management and IT requirements including, Microsoft and other IT programmes. Ideally, you'll have a basic understanding of safety, health and environmental management standards and practice. (Training is available to support this, if required)

Essentially, you'll be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders across all levels of the business or site(s) and externally. Stakeholders include (not limited to), employees, suppliers, contractors and customer representatives, including senior Naval personnel. Linking these key competencies, you'll also be able to demonstrate integrity, credibility and maturity to gain the confidence and respect of others.

About you:

Due to the nature of the work environment, you'll be required to solve problems in a dynamic way. As Building Co-ordinator, you'll utilise your analytical approach to resolve issues in a variety of situations, and incorporate your ability to apply skills and knowledge to a range of problems and issues, drawing upon previous experience. The role also requires effective communication skills able to negotiate internally and externally across a range of levels and with high-level sensitivity and security.
