We are currently partnering with a leading organisation in the Midlands to recruit an Interim Finance Operations Specialist for an initial 3-6 month assignment, with potential for extension. This high-impact role is ideal for a seasoned finance leader with a track record of operational excellence and team leadership across complex finance functions.

This is a pivotal role within the finance function, supporting the delivery of operational excellence and transformation across several core areas.

Location: Midlands (onsite)

Contract length: 6 months ongoing

Candidate rate: £800-£1,200 per day (outside IR35)

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Financial Operations Specialist

Lead a diverse operational finance team across stock, payment processes, customer payments, and MI, including robotic process automation (RPA) initiatives.
Oversee and manage both onshore and offshore teams covering transactional finance and accounting.
Manage the relationship with an outsourced finance provider, ensuring delivery against KPIs and service expectations.
Play a key commercial role in evaluating and presenting payment solutions and negotiating with third-party payment service providers.
Take ownership of the month-end and year-end close process for cash accounting, ensuring the robustness of the financial control framework.

Essential Requirements of the Interim Financial Operations Specialist

Desirable: qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
Proven experience in leading finance operations within large, complex organisations.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess and deliver new payment strategies.
Confident managing hybrid teams and working across onshore/offshore models.
