A brilliant opportunity for a Health and safety professional has become available with a market leader in the utilities sector. Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, you will support and implement health and safety across a variety of sites in the power and transmission sectors in the M25 area. A safety background, and/or a related qualification within this sector is essential.

The Location:

The role involves multi-site-based work and travelling to sites in southern England. You must have a full UK driver's license and unrestricted UK right to work

The Person:

You should be a well-rounded, site-based safety professional with a good understanding of relevant SHEQ legislation and industry standards related to the P&T sector - i.e substations/ National Grid ect.

Key Accountabilities:

• Assist in developing and ongoing review of the Health and Safety for each site.

• Advise the site teams in the interpretation, guidance, and advice on the application of the SHE management systems

• Promote the Group SHE standards within contracts and supply chain and conduct contractor/supply chain assessments

• Undertake site inspections and attend Site Review Meetings.

• Provide support with the identification and management of SHE risks, issues and opportunities

• Support and facilitate liaison with enforcing SHE authorities

• Keep up to date with knowledge on current SHE Legislation, Best Practices, current thinking on H&S practices and developments related to our business activities

Continuous Improvement

• Support the SHEQ Team

• Support in the preparation and issue of SHE Alerts / Bulletins and Posters

• Support with the review and update of SHE processes and procedures as necessary
