Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant who has good experience managing both the sales and purchase ledger process while preparing detailed reports?
A highly-established business who have gone through a fast period of change are looking for a Accounts Assistant to join their team based near Chelmsford.
As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for employees.
- Ensure that payroll records are accurate and comply with relevant laws and regulations Processing monthly payroll of 60 people on Sage
- Manage accounts payable by processing supplier invoices, verifying amounts, and ensuring timely payments.
- Handle accounts receivable by recording incoming payments and following up on overdue accounts.
- Prepare and send out invoices to clients and customers.
- Track and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely payments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Ensure that financial data is entered correctly in the accounting software.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure that the company’s records match the bank statements.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies identified during reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations that may affect the organization.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance department.
- Handle correspondence, filing, and documentation related to financial activities
