Residents Manager

  • Hybrid Working
  • Location: East Hertfordshire and Essex
  • Salary:  £12.00 PAYE or £14.64 Umbrella
  • Monday to Friday  09:00 – 5pm
  • 6 month contract

We are seeking a dedicated temporary Residents Manager to oversee the safety, security, and maintenance of a residential property. This role is ideal for someone with facilities management experience and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Act as a key-holder, ensuring the security of communal areas and facilities.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for residents, contractors, and visitors, managing access to the building.
  • Candidates must also be comfortable visiting residents’ homes without performing caregiving tasks.
  • Managing 10 employees
  • Coordinate with contractors for repairs, maintenance, and servicing of communal areas and equipment.
  • Manage laundry facilities and communal spaces, ensuring they are well-maintained and welcoming.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve repair, maintenance, and security issues.
  • Advise tenants on rent account management and property upkeep.
  • Perform water testing and safety equipment checks in line with health and safety processes.
  • Record health and safety inspections outcomes and manage any necessary gritting as per the service plan.
  • Provide emergency cover and support as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in facilities management.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and self-motivation.
  • Strong communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
  • Experience working with older people or in a service-based role is desirable.
  • Good understanding of diversity, equality, data protection, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent administrative, organisational, and IT skills.
  • Knowledge of the housing/building management sector.
  • Understanding or experience in health and safety management.
  • Flexibility to cover out-of-hours emergencies and travel to alternative sites.
  • Driving ability with access to a vehicle for work purposes (location dependent).
