Commercial Manager | £60,000-£70,000 | PE Backed business | South Manchester (Hybrid)Job Overview:Axon Moore is delighted to partner with an outstanding, PE-backed retailer that is continuing its extraordinary growth through organic and M&A activities and is now looking for a Commercial Manager to complement its strong finance function.This is a unique, and fantastic opportunity for an individual that has built their career developing an excellent analytical and commercial skillset in a data-driven environment. The role will utilise these skills to understand the dynamics between purchasing and margins, creating strategies that will maximise profitability and stock efficiencies.This is a key role in the wider function, working in partnership with various stakeholders across the business as this position will directly impact revenue growth and overall business performance. We are looking to speak to anyone with a strong footing in data analytics, pricing optimisation, inventory strategies, and a clear demonstration of modelling skills i.e. SQL, Python, or Power BI.It is an exciting time to join the business, with real growth potential in this job and proven examples of excellent mentorship across finance.Salary: £60,000-£70,000Location: South Manchester (hybrid working, 3 days a week)Main Duties:
• Utilise a strong data set in unison with third party data to create dynamic decisions what purchasing opportunities.
• Margin analysis, assess conversion rates and stock turnover to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Develop models to predict consumer purchasing behaviour.
• Utilising purchasing data, identify high demand items and create optimal pricing strategies.
• Continually monitor the impact of pricing changes.
• Develop dynamic pricing models to maximise stock return.
• Optimise retail pricing strategies based on demand.
• Identify acquisition strategies based on historical sales data and demand forecast.
• Provide inventory recommendations to maximise profitability.
• Partner with the buying team to align purchase decisions with data.
• Present insights to key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to develop dashboard and reporting tools.Person Specification:
• Strong analytical background with experience in data science, pricing and revenue.
• Proficient in SQL, Python and Power BI.
• Strong understanding of pricing analysis.
• A strong commercial acumen.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to details.
• Excellent communicator.
