The Role

The Treasury Analyst sits within our Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA) Treasury function, reporting into the Head of Treasury, EMEA. The EMEA Treasury team is the Head of Treasury, EMEA, Treasury Analyst (this role) and Treasury Assistant.
EMEA Treasury is responsible for managing NRF EMEA’s treasury risks including, liquidity, funding, interest rate, foreign currency and counterparty credit. The Treasury Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day execution of Treasury operations, undertaking Treasury reporting and supporting the Head of Treasury, EMEA with more strategic treasury activities.
Key Responsibilities
Execution
- Execute tactical strategies for the management of the Firms’ currency, interest rate, counterparty credit, liquidity and funding risks within Policy under direction of the Head of Treasury, EMEA
- Execute foreign exchange transactions in multiple currencies with the Firms’ relationship banks ensuring the most competitive exchange rates are achieved
- Liaise with the Finance Managers and colleagues in the NRF’s non-UK offices regarding their cash forecasts and funding requirements. Execute spot foreign exchange transactions to meet their funding requirements using the FX trading platform 360T
- Manage online banking systems ensuring there is effective segregation of duties
- Manage EMEA wide bank account structure ensuring that the bank account structure continues to be fit for purpose, streamlining bank accounts where possible.
Reporting and review
- Review the NRF’s daily liquidity position and seek short term investment opportunities
- Analyse NRF’s treasury exposures to evaluate the risks and suggest potential strategies that could be used to minimise the impact of these risks
- Maintain Treasury’s foreign exchange dashboard by updating it with all new trades executed during the month
- Review reporting produced by the Treasury Assistant, ensuring a high level of accuracy is maintained
- Maintain EMEA Treasury’s business continuity planning and assess any possible future risks.
Support
- Support the Head of Treasury, EMEA to manage all UK bank relationships and input into ad hoc projects
- Support international office’s client proposals (issuing performance and bid guarantees)
- Oversee the Treasury Assistant’s work to ensure the Firms’ liquidity is managed within overdraft and facility limits (The Treasury Assistant reports into the Head of Treasury, EMEA)
Skills and Experience Required
Essential:
- Minimum of 2 years treasury and cash management experience in an international business
- Excel and other Microsoft tools
Desirable:
- Worked with a SAP financial system
- Educated to a degree level
- Enjoy working independently, taking full ownership of deliverables.
- Be self-motivated and self-disciplined, passionate about delivering continuous improvement with a customer service mindset
- Have outstanding communication and influencing skills, able to effectively operate across teams and influence key stakeholders
- Be a good problem solver with a process orientated mindset, methodical in approach with an “eye for detail”
- Ability to work under pressure, operating flexibly to cope with conflicting demands
