Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Wednesbury

Hours: 06:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday

Salary: £15.00 - £17.00 per hour Dependant upon experience

Industrial Recruitment Solutions are current recruiting for a leading foundry within the Wednesbury area. We are currently looking for a dedicated Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on heavy machinery and foundry equipment.

* Diagnose and repair electrical faults on various control systems including conveyors, motors, variable speed drives, and PLCs.

* Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) routines and ensure equipment reliability.

* Perform minor modifications on PLC systems and electrical installations as and where needed.

* Collaborate with the engineering team to improve long-term reliability and efficiency of equipment.

* Adhere to all safety protocols and engineering procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

* Utilise a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log maintenance activities and manage work orders.

Qualifications and Skills:

* A nationally recognised electrical apprenticeship (minimum level 3) or equivalent.

* Proven experience in maintenance engineering within a heavy machinery or foundry environment.

* Strong fault-finding skills on electrical systems and experience with preventative maintenance.

* Familiarity with industrial electric motors, variable speed drives, and control systems.

* Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is advantageous.

* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification is preferred.

* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
