Our client, a leading aerospace engineering firm based in Rochester, are looking to recruit a Bandsaw Operative in their Fettling department to assist in the manufacturing, finishing and testing of their products.

As a Bandsaw Operator, you will be responsible for operating saws to cut various materials accurately and efficiently. Your precision and attention to detail will contribute to the production of high-quality products.

Main Duties

• Band Saw operation, ensuring precise measurements and specifications
• Processing parts in accordance with production schedules
• Quality checking products for defects before and after cutting
• Reporting any issues with production machinery to team leaders
• Ensuring the work area is clean and tidy

On occasion you may also be asked to assist with shot blasting.

Requirements

• Proficiency operating bandsaws
• Proficiency using hand tools
• Experience in a manufacturing warehouse/timber/production environment.
• A good work ethic, strong attention to detail and excellent time keeping skills
• You must be physically fit as the role may involve periods of standing and some manual lifting to move parts around the factory floor
• Safety boots will be required, all other PPE provided

This role may also suit those with exposure to carpentry or joinery.

Hours

Monday-Thursday 7.30am-4.30pm and Friday 7.30am-1.30pm - 40 hours a week.
