Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-quality, precision plastics is currently looking for a Production Planner/Buyer, with a strong purchasing background, to join their team on a full-time basis. They serve a diverse range of industries including: Automotive, Aerospace, and FMCG.

Production Planner/Buyer - Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules.
• Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to schedules, adjusting plans as needed to meet customer requirements and mitigate any delays.
• Work closely with the production team to optimise equipment utilisation and minimise downtime.
• Analyse production metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement, focusing on efficiency and waste reduction.
• Source and purchase raw materials, negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring the best possible terms for price, quality, and delivery.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory levels, initiating purchase orders to prevent shortages while avoiding excess stock.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, resolving any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing promptly.
• Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring alignment with production needs.
• Communicate effectively with all relevant departments to ensure a seamless flow of information and materials throughout the production process.

Production Planner/Buyer - Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Production Planner/Buyer in a plastics manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in production planning software and ERP/MRP systems.
• In-depth knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain management.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
