About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Water Resource Planner to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering resilient and sustainable water supply solutions across the UK and beyond.

In this role, you will:

Lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical expertise on WRMPs, regional plans, drought plans, demand management, and strategic water resource options.
Support the wider water resources team and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the business.
Manage commercial projects, bids, and proposals while contributing to strategic planning for AMP8.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the assessment and development of WRMPs, regional plans, and drought plans.
Develop supply-demand balance components, conduct hydrological and water resources assessments, and appraise options.
Deliver regulatory and environmental assessments, including WINEP investigations, Water Framework Directive assessments, and climate change impact analyses.
Manage project teams and ensure high-quality outputs for complex water resource planning initiatives.
Maintain and build strong client relationships while contributing to business development.

What Our Client is Looking For

Extensive experience in water resource planning, including WRMPs, regional plans, and environmental assessments.
Strong understanding of UK water regulatory requirements and planning guidelines.
Project management experience, including managing teams and complex projects.
A relevant degree (e.g., geography, environmental science, civil/environmental engineering) and preferably a postgraduate qualification in hydrology, hydrogeology, or water resources management.
Professional chartership or active involvement with CIWEM, ICE, or the Institute of Water.
