Dunbar Education is excited to partner with a highly regarded and Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Enfield to recruit a passionate and experienced Head of History for a September 2025 start. This is a wonderful opportunity for a talented leader to inspire a love of history and drive academic excellence.

The Role

As the Head of History, you will:

Lead the History department, fostering a culture of curiosity and engagement with the subject.
Plan, deliver, and oversee high-quality teaching and learning from KS3 to KS5.
Support your team in delivering an inspiring and enriching curriculum that promotes critical thinking and a deep understanding of historical events.
Monitor student progress and implement strategies to ensure continued success and improvement.
Work closely with senior leadership to align the department's vision with the wider school goals.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an ambitious and driven leader who:

Has a proven record of outstanding teaching in History, ideally at KS4 and KS5.
Demonstrates leadership experience or the readiness to step into a Head of Department role.
Possesses excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to inspire students and staff alike.
Is committed to fostering a love of history and delivering exceptional student outcomes.
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and is eligible to work in the UK.
