Role Overview:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving the acquisition of new business, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and expanding the company's portfolio across the region. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the insurance market, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of generating sales and building long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Acquisition: Identify, target, and convert new business opportunities in the assigned territory (Manchester, Leeds, or Liverpool).
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and other stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact.
- Market Expansion: Identify trends and opportunities in the market, developing strategies to expand the company's market share in the region.
- Sales Target Achievement: Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets by actively pursuing leads, preparing proposals, and negotiating terms.
- Product Knowledge & Strategy: Leverage in-depth knowledge of MGA products and services to create tailored solutions that meet client needs.
- Client Retention & Support: Provide exceptional ongoing support to clients, ensuring their needs are met and encouraging repeat business.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities and progress, preparing regular reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the underwriting and claims teams to ensure a seamless experience for clients and identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform business development strategies.
