About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Central Birmingham. This is a permanent, full-time role where you will play an essential part in helping students with diverse needs thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.

Key Responsibilities

*

Providing one-to-one and small group support for students with a range of special educational needs

*

Working alongside the class teacher to deliver personalised and accessible learning

*

Implementing strategies to manage behaviour positively and constructively

*

Encouraging independence, confidence, and emotional well-being in students

*

Creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment

*

Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to follow and review individual education plans

*

Supporting students with personal care needs where required

What We're Looking For

*

Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or other additional needs)

*

Knowledge of behaviour support strategies and inclusive practices

*

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

*

A calm, understanding, and patient approach to challenges

*

Team player with a flexible and proactive attitude

*

Willingness to complete relevant training and ongoing professional development

*

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
