Commercial Manager - West MidlandsDue to continued growth the position of Commercial Manager has become available to join our successful team based in the West Midlands.

Costain is working closely with Severn Trent Water on their Capital Delivery Framework, as part of its c£2 billion capital programme for AMP7. As part of the Design and Build Framework lot, Costain brings together its design, construction, and consultancy expertise to undertake renewal and refurbishment projects and will assist Severn Trent in its target to make continuous improvements to its safety performance, whilst ensuring continuity of supply and consequently lowering costs for its customers.

The role of the Commercial Manager is to drive and lead projects commercially to ensure that it is procured, delivered within budget and to the highest quality whilst exceeding our customers' expectations. You will lead and develop, where necessary, the efficient and effective management and issue of accurate, timely and compliant notices and correspondence and ensure the compliance of all contractual activities on the project.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the legal framework within which the industry operates, and in-depth knowledge of the standard forms of contract (typically NEC3/NEC4) applicable to their portfolio. They must be able to formulate commercial strategies in connection with conflict avoidance, conflict management and dispute resolution and be able to demonstrate good communication, influencing and decision-making skills

This position has a competitive salary dependent on skills and experience, in addition to a fantastic benefits package including pension contribution matched up to 10%.

Role Requirements
Significant post-graduate commercial experience in the construction industry with a strong track record of achievement
Previous water sector knowledge (preferred)
RICS/CICES accredited degree
Full Membership of RICS or CICES
A creative, strategic, and innovative approach to problem-solving
Proven negotiating and team-working skills demonstrating the ability to motivate, develop and lead medium size teams to deliver to or above target levels of performance
Proficient in implementing and delivering strategic objectives and associated change programmes
Ability to maintain a measured approach in a challenging and dynamic commercial environment
