Are you an adaptable professional with experience of delivering cultural engagement or public programmes?

We are so excited that Wandsworth has been chosen by the Mayor of London to be London Borough of Culture 2025. We are planning an inspirational year of culture where every corner of Wandsworth comes alive in an explosion of creativity.

You can expect large scale dance events, a mass choral spectacular and a disability arts festival showcasing great artists from the borough, amongst many other things.

By sharing experiences and connecting, we believe culture has the power to make us all feel better. We want to start a movement across the Capital where everyone recognises that culture has the power to heal - a place where better health outcomes are achieved through the healing, inspirational power of culture and the arts.

About the role

As a Youth Participation Officer you will work with the award-winning Arts & Culture Service to develop, deliver and monitor a range of ambitious cultural programmes for young creatives aged 14+ within London Borough of Culture. Your support will be crucial to the Programme and Partnership Manager who you will help to lead on these programmes.

You will work on projects that facilitate young people in Wandsworth to seize the opportunities that London Borough of Culture offers; from leading on the inclusion of youth voice in the programme to delivering programmes that support young people’s access to creative careers. You will be working directly with participants, facilitating sessions, collaborating with artists, and  utilising your project management skills to produce events , and activities.

Safeguarding training will be provided as part of your induction. As you will be looking after a Arts and Culture Programme, some evening and weekend work will be required.

  • Excellent project management and organisational skills (project management qualification is not required but experience is essential).
  • Good youth facilitation skills and having proven understanding of youth participation panels.
  • Experience of delivering art projects.
  • Strong communications skills, particularly in partnership working with other organisations.
  • Great budget management skills and previous experience.
  • Good evaluation skills and basic understanding of data processing.
  • Help us to deliver a year to remember, using the power of culture to transform lives, spark joy, connect people and improve wellbeing – let’s do this together!
