Job description
Due to continued growth and expansion, my client who is based in Clay Cross have an immediate need for an EXPERIENCED UPVC Windows & Doors Estimator to join their team in the Windows, Doors and Conservatories division working on both commercial and domestic properties, including new build and refurbishment.
This is an exciting time to be joining the company, who are investing heavily in their future (new machining centre recently purchased) and growing quickly, providing the ideal environment for you to develop and progress your own career.
That said they are looking for the “right candidate” who is energetic, proactive and an experienced uPVC Estimator with the skills and desire to manage his/her own team in the future.
The Role / Skills / Experience required:
* Carefully inspecting tender documentation and analysing exact requirements and identify areas that we can provide quotations on.
* Ensuring quotations are submitted professionally and accurately reflect and demonstrate what has been included. We use “EVOLUTION” (Business Micro's) software specifically designed for the UPVC Industry.
* Ability to extract information from tender drawings to allow quotations to be prepared and submitted.
* Work from bills of quantities or simply tender drawings i.e. design & build basis.
* Ability to maintain & develop professional relationships with current clients as well as sourcing new clients to help future business development.
* Promote further tender invitations.
* Experience using Barbour ABI would be advantageous, but not necessary as training can be provided.
* Experience using Business Micro's software is preferred.
* You should be confident, reliable and a team player.
* Excellent time management and negotiating skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Positive "can do" attitude and a flexible approach.
* Ability to work to strict often tight timescales/deadlines.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Self-motivated with the drive and enthusiasm to succeed.
* Commercial Acumen.
* Ability to liaise with people at all levels of seniority.
* Proactive approach
* Ability to consistently achieve individual sales and outperform targets.
* Experience in the construction industry is a necessity in order to understand construction tender drawings.
* Liaison with clients by phone and occasionally through site visits.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel.
* Ability to think outside the box & value engineer schemes.
* Ability to print off drawings using plotters to allow accurate “take-offs” to be carried out.
* Chasing up clients for information / queries.
* Attend tender review meetings on a daily basis with company directors to agree prices prior to issuing quotations.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 8am-5pm & Friday 8am-2:30pm.
