Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Practice Manager to join the London Borough of Waltham Forest in the Mental Health and Wellness Team. Role Summary:
As a Practice Manager, you will report to a Team Manager and take on responsibility for managing and supervising a team of qualified and support staff. You will also support colleagues in delivering exceptional care and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing a complex caseload and triages.
• Leading as a Duty Lead within the team.
• Developing person-led support plans for adults in Mental Health and Wellness.
• Working with vulnerable adults and older people, ensuring their safety, independence, and well-being.
• Coordinating with external partners and agencies to deliver integrated care services.
• Representing the Council at multi-agency meetings.
• Managing a team of staff, offering guidance and supervision to ensure high performance.
• Undertake the full legal range of social care assessments and develop person-led support plans.
• Maintain good working relationships with professional colleagues, external agencies, and service users.
• Demonstrate a high level of communication, negotiation, and assertiveness skills.
• Handle challenging situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of adults and older people.
• Provide direct line management and supervision for staff members.

Skills and Experience Required:
• Significant post-qualifying social work experience in a children and families or mental health setting.
• Experience of complex case management and risk assessment.
• Ability to make decisions based on thorough analysis and evidence.
• Demonstrable knowledge of working with multi-cultural communities and delivering culturally sensitive services.
• ICT proficiency, including Microsoft applications.
• Proven experience managing complex and challenging situations.

Qualification:
• Social Work Degree (BA or MA in Social Work).
• HCPC Registration as a qualified social worker.
• AMHP (Approved Mental Health Professional) Qualification.
• Post-qualifying experience in a relevant social care or mental health setting.
• Enhanced DBS Check (Disclosure and Barring Service)
