Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our client in Ballyclare to recruit a new full time and permanent Freight Forwarder to join their team.

This role offers the chance to work with a leading logistics provider and gain valuable experience across the full spectrum of freight management, serving clients throughout the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

As a Freight Forwarder, you'll be at the heart of our logistics operations, managing import and export consignments and coordinating multi-modal bookings with shipping lines, overseas agents, and subcontractors.

This role requires strong communication skills, as you'll be liaising with various stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely operations. Your attention to detail and process-oriented mindset will be vital in ensuring accuracy and compliance, while your adaptability will help you handle unexpected challenges with ease.

Duties

Coordination & Communication: Manage end-to-end import and export consignments, communicating with clients, agents, and partners to keep everyone in the loop and ensure smooth operations.
Attention to Detail: Accurately enter job details into our computerised system and ensure timely, correct invoicing. Your careful attention to paperwork and compliance will keep everything on track.
Problem Solving: Address operational issues and adapt to changes efficiently. Your ability to think on your feet and find solutions will make a real impact.
Team Collaboration: Work alongside the internal team to implement and refine systems, ensuring we maintain high standards and continue to deliver a high-quality service to our clients.

Criteria

Must have experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or a related field (2+ years preferred).
Operational knowledge of air, road, and sea freight movements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with various software tools.
Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks accurately.
Problem-Solving: Ability to handle unexpected challenges with ease.
Organizational Skills: Keeping track of multiple tasks and deadlines in a busy environment.
Adaptability: Comfortable with changes in a fast-paced industry.
Customer Focus: Committed to providing an exceptional experience for clients.
