**About the Client**
Our client is a reputable social care company, rated GOOD by Ofsted, seeking a dynamic and experienced manager to lead a new home offering specialist residential services for children aged 12 to 18. This service aims to provide high-quality care, promoting the physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.
**Requirements**
- Level 5 NVQ in Leadership and Management.
- Proven experience in completing at least one Ofsted inspection as a registered manager.
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience in a children's home.
**Role Overview**
The Registered Manager will be accountable to the Responsible Individual and collaborate with other Registered Managers and the Senior Management Team to ensure operational excellence and adherence to standards. The Registered Manager will have sole responsibility for their home, overseeing all shifts to ensure quality assurance and delivering outstanding care.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Maintain high occupancy levels and take proactive measures to prevent placement breakdowns.
- Manage, coordinate, and develop a range of quality services for young people.
- Deliver care, education, and health plan objectives.
- Ensure all aspects of safeguarding are addressed and managed.
- Collaborate with young people, their families, the placing local authority, and other professionals.
- Provide effective leadership and implement organisational strategies within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure best practices across the organisation in collaboration with other Registered Managers.
- Lead on Health and Safety, complete risk assessments, monitor records, and meet regulatory requirements.
- Analyse data to ensure appropriate responses to incidents and restraints.
- Ensure the home is appropriately staffed and support other children's homes within the organisation as needed.
- Line manage senior staff, ensuring proper induction, supervision, and performance management.
- Promote team development and effective teamwork.
- Complete Reg 45 reports and respond to Reg 44 visit findings to a high standard within required timeframes.
- Develop effective communication strategies and systems.
- Ensure effective communication and planning around referrals and placements.
- Ensure all team members receive mandatory training.
- Work with the Training Lead to cultivate a culture of learning and development within the team.
- Manage HR issues, including absence, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
- Liaise with HR to recruit and induct sufficient staff.
- Maintain a minimum regulatory performance rating of 'Good'.
- Efficiently manage delegated budgets.
- Undertake out-of-hours duties to ensure the effective running of the home.
- Take full responsibility for required reporting and ensure timely completion of action plans.
- Attend all local authority reviews for children and young people placed in the home.
- Model best practices by working across all shifts as needed.
- Align staffing, rotas, and support needs with financial requirements.
- Continuously assess and develop personal management and leadership skills in line with the Foundation's performance management program.
