Job Description: Project Controls Manager

Job Duties:
- Develop and implement project control processes and procedures
- Monitor project progress and performance to ensure adherence to schedule and budget
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, cost estimates, and resource plans
- Identify potential risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with project team members to track and report on project deliverables
- Provide regular project status updates to senior management
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional certification in project management, such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional).
- Certification in project controls, such as CCP (Certified Cost Professional) or PSP (Project Scheduling Professional).
- Master's degree or postgraduate qualification in Project Management or related field (preferred).
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project controls, including planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex projects in industries such as construction, engineering, oil & gas, or infrastructure.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in leading a project controls team, with direct responsibility for developing and managing schedules, budgets, and project control processes.
- Strong familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2).
- Experience working with project management and controls software, such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or Asta Powerproject.
Software Experience:
- Primavera P6, MS Project, or Asta Powerproject
- Full suite MS Office
- ERP systems such as SAP
Skills:- Expertise in project scheduling and cost control techniques.
- Proficiency in project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and financial management tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret project data and provide insights.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to ensure milestones and deliverables are met on time.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Leadership abilities to manage and motivate a team of project control specialists.
Core Function:
- Schedule Performance Index (SPI): Maintaining a project SPI of 1 or above to ensure projects are on schedule.
- Cost Performance Index (CPI): Achieving a CPI of 1 or above to ensure projects are completed within budget.
- Earned Value Accuracy: Ensuring that earned value reports accurately reflect project status, with variances below 5%.
- Forecast Accuracy: Providing accurate project forecasts with variance from actuals of less than 5%.
- Change Request Management: Monitoring and controlling project scope changes, with less than 10% of changes leading to significant cost or schedule overruns.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: Achieving a stakeholder satisfaction rate of 90% or above through regular communication and transparent reporting.
