This established, family-run practice specialises in providing accounting, taxation, and business advisory services to a variety of owner-managed businesses and individuals in the local area. Following sustained growth, the firm is looking to bring on a Senior Client Accountant who is eager to help shape the future of the practice during this exciting period of expansion.
Key Objectives of the Role:
The Senior Client Accountant will be responsible for overseeing a diverse client portfolio, collaborating closely with the director and other team members to provide high-quality accounting and bookkeeping services. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of cloud accounting software, with the experience necessary to build and maintain positive client relationships.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of annual accounts from both complete and incomplete records.
Manage the completion and submission of quarterly VAT and monthly CIS returns.
Address client queries related to VAT, CIS, and general accounts, working closely with the internal team and HMRC.
Support and review bookkeeping tasks managed by other colleagues.
Collaborate with clients on year-end accounts preparation, including sole traders, partnerships, and small limited companies.
Manage personal tax information collation.
Remain proactive and knowledgeable about upcoming changes such as Making Tax Digital (MTD).
Perform general office duties as needed.
Requirements Qualifications and Experience:
AAT qualified or equivalent.
Minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role within an accounting practice.
Proficient in cloud accounting software, such as Iris, Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
Excellent understanding of VAT law and accounts preparation.
Confident communicator with strong attention to detail.
Key Skills:

Organized, with a proactive approach to managing workload and client needs.

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum FTE, depending on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Minimum of 22-28 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options (across 3-5 days)
