About the role:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in managing challenging behaviours to join our team. In this full-time, long-term position, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with complex needs, including those exhibiting challenging behaviours such as running, screaming, or occasional aggression. The ideal candidate will possess a calm demeanor, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome behavioural challenges and thrive academically and socially.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with a focus on SEN and challenging behaviours.• A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.• A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.• Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviours, helping them to manage their emotions and develop positive behaviour strategies.• Work closely with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support classroom management strategies.• Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and reporting on behavioural and academic developments.• Assist with creating and maintaining a safe, engaging, and respectful classroom environment.• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to continually enhance your skills and knowledge.
