My client, a leading Marine Engineering consultancy is looking for an Experienced Marine Draughtsman/ Ship Designer/ Ship Draughtsman to join their team based in Portsmouth, UK. This is a unique opportunity for the successful Marine Draughtsman/ Ship Designer/ Ship Draughtsman to work on innovative projects that are shaping the future of the maritime industry, including the integration of advanced sustainable technologies.

Key Responsibilities of Marine Draughtsman

Produce detailed construction and fabrication drawings, including General Arrangements (GA's), for large vessel structures.
Collaborate closely with shipyards to ensure design modifications and integrations are implemented seamlessly.
Work directly with designers and naval architects to bridge the gap between conceptual design and practical shipbuilding requirements.
Ensure compliance with class requirements for vessel design and modification.
Play a key role in the integration of cutting-edge technologies into various vessels 

Essential Requirements of Marine Draughtsman

Minimum of 5 years of experience in producing technical drawings for large vessels, including fabrication and GA drawings.
In-depth understanding of ship construction methods and fabrication processes.
Experience working in or closely with shipyards.
Strong knowledge of classification society requirements and their application to ship design.
Ability to communicate effectively with naval architects, designers, and shipyard engineers.Desirable Attributes of Marine Draughtsman

Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to design challenges.
Familiarity with modern technologies in the maritime industry, particularly those related to sustainability and energy efficiency
