If so, we have the perfect role for you!

EdEx are on the hunt for multiple graduates who are bubbly and enthusiastic, ready to hit the ground running, supporting KS1 - KS2 students in an Wandsworth Primary School this September. Within this role, you will be supporting students who are non-verbal, pre-verbal and those who have limited speech so, you will be using well known methods including Art, Music and Creative therapy. This will be using resources such as picture cards, speech therapy apps and painting/drawing

You will be able to shadow professionals such as Speech and Language, Art and Music Therapists as they come to the school on a routine basis. This will allow you to get some insight into their line of work and get some tips for your upcoming career.

This school will provide you with training, resources and the materials to ensure every student thrives with your support

Job Description - Speech and Language Teaching Assistant

Speech and Language Teaching Assistant
Working with KS1 & KS2
Supporting students mainly on 1:1 basis working on their speech and language
Shadowing professionals such as Speech and Language, Art and Music professionals
Working closely with SEN students including Non - Verbal, Pre - Verbal and those who have limited communication.
Use creative and imaginative ways to communicate and build rapports with the students
To support the lead teacher with resources and basic behaviour management
Following set personalised plans to improve the students speech and language skills
Monday to Friday 8:30-4pm
£105 - £115 per day
September 2024 start (for full academic year)
Located in Wandsworth
Full - Time, Long TermCandidate Specification - Speech and Language Teaching Assistant

Bright graduate who has a 2:1 or 1st class degree
Strong GCSE and A-Level grades
Strong passion for working with students on their academia and mental health
Enthusiasm and creative to be able to inspire children with learning
The ability to write cogently and fluently with correct spelling and punctuation
Patience, kindness, flexibility, good humour and the ability to work as part of a team
Professional attitude and approach to work
