Do you want to become a Mental Health Caseworker, providing a high-quality Supported Housing service in the Swansea area?
This is a lovely environment, providing low level support to individuals who need help to move towards independence and, eventually, in to their own tenancy. Each person lives in a contained flat within the property.
We are looking for a two Caseworkers to join a team in this amazing project.
The role will involve providing emotional support to people experiencing mental health issues, to offer a safe space where people can talk, offer practical support to address issues contributing to the person's distress and ongoing housing issues.
This role requires working on a 3 week rolling rota - there are NO night shifts and NO responsibility for personal care or medication management.
What are the details?
- Permanent contract
- Salary of £22,464 per year
- Day shifts during the week are a mix of - 9am to 5pm and 1pm to 9pm
- 1 day during the weekend (either Saturday or Sunday) - 9am to 3pm
- One full weekend off every month
- 36 hours per week

What will you do?
- To provide compassionate support to people experiencing mental health issues.
- To work alongside individuals and professionals to address social and practical issues which may be contributing to their distress.
- To work alongside the Crisis Team to ensure relevant information is shared.
- To involve individuals in the development, running, evaluation and future evolution of the service and support they receive.
- Involve people we support, in the development, running and evaluation of the service.
- Liaise with other agencies with and on behalf of people we support as part of long term and crisis intervention support, including participation in joint meetings
- Assist people we support, to access information and advice
- Keep accurate notes of all support provided
What do we need?
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, attachment theory and relationship-based approaches.
- Experience of working within the mental health sector and/or supporting people experiencing emotional distress.
- Experience of involving people accessing services in the design and development of the services they used with a strong focus on listening to people with lived experiences.
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge and Understanding of Welfare Benefits
- Understanding of safeguarding for adults.
- Self-awareness and willingness to engage in reflective practice and ongoing personal development
- Experience of working shifts
- Able to complete or already hold a DBS check
