We are recruiting for a Security Vetting Support Administrator for a leading Defence organisation based in Stevenage.
This is a hybrid role with Thursday & Friday on site.

Overview of department:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the dynamic and vibrant environment of security vetting.  This is a critical business area that supports the management of security-vetted personnel to work within the organisation.  You and the team will be the first layer of security in ensuring any personnel risks are identified and managed.  In addition you will be required to administratively support the Personnel Security Manager and team in the successful implementation of the Vetting Strategy.

Responsibilities:

You will be part of a highly motivated and progressive security team
Part of a wider support mechanism that enables us to conduct our business
Your role will principally look to complete and record accurately all right to work and identity checks to ensure potential candidates have the necessary documentation and rights in place to work in the UK
Inputting in a timely and accurately manner, data into a 3rd party provider portal to minimise delays in completion of clearances
Support the team in obtaining BPSS and National Security Vetting clearances for new and existing employees
Support the team in achieving its objectives and reducing risk to the organisation
Be point of contact for vetting issues/problems
Liaise with UKSV and other internal and external agencies when appropriate
Monitor external IT platform to obtain and update security clearancesExperience required:
Essential:

Excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills
Customer service experience
Excellent work ethic, motivated and enthusiastic
Professional meticulous approach with focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work as part of a team and within the wider security department
Able to work under pressure and prioritise work as required
IT competent, organised and willing to learn new systems
'Can do' positive attitude in supporting the team
Able to act in the strictest of confidence with personal sensitive data - integrity is paramount
Must be able to obtain national security vetting and BPSS
Ability to challenge, negotiate and problem solve when required
Willingness to learn new standards and processes to apply best practice security 
Desirable:

Experience of HMG BPSS and UKSV vetting processes
Experience and knowledge of MOD and defence industry
Relevant vetting qualification
Awareness and knowledge of recruitment and onboarding processes for defence industry
Personnel Security awareness for the ongoing aftercare of security cleared staff
Presentational experience for the delivery of training
Knowledge of relevant vetting policy, including GDPRThis is an umbrella contract, the role is Inside IR35
