Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Kingston Lacy as our Visitor Operations and Experience Manager. As we move into our new 10-year strategy period, you’ll be at the forefront of developing our visitor operation and creating inspiring experiences for our visitors and local communities.
This role will include working on weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis, along with some evening working. As a duty manager you'll be responsible for the smooth running of the site, ensuring visitors, staff and volunteers are safe and that the visitor experience is prioritised.
What it's like to work here
As one of the National Trust’s ‘treasure houses’, the 90 strong team have exciting times ahead as they undertake a large building project to create new visitor facilities. Our 8,500 acre estate has a rare collection of artefacts, an outstanding art collection, Japanese garden and Kitchen Garden as well as a wider estate with rivers, hill forts and miles of footpaths to explore.

What you'll be doing
You'll be leading the visitor operation, ensuring that we understand our audiences and visitors needs, putting them first in everything we do. You'll champion and lead for the experiences we offer, playing an active role in the planning, development and delivery of our visitor experience, ensuring audience insight and community participation is at the heart of our development. You'll work collaboratively with partners and internal consultancy to develop our visitor journey and experience.
As a strong people leader you'll develop your people and volunteers to deliver great service for all our visitors. You'll play a key role in the future of Kingston Lacy, driving strong performance across your financial targets, maximising income generation, fundraising and events to support our long term plans.
From creating new experiences, analysing current feedback and developing the visitor business this is a key role at Kingston Lacy as we move into the future.
Who we're looking for
•experience working in a busy visitor attraction within operations or visitor experience, ideally in the heritage or cultural sector
•people management skills – strong leadership
•experience with visitor safety operational risk
•designing engagement programme for visitor’s, community or volunteer audience
•budget management and strategically planning, analysis of feedback and making improvement recommendations
